Must Have Handbooks
- Literary Research Guide: An Annotated Listing of Reference Sources in English Literary StudiesJames Harner's guide to research is a long-time standard for the study of English literatures. It is a must have for advanced students in the field.
- MLA Handbook for Writers of Research PapersThe only source for format and citation guidelines for literature. Despite how the record looks, Fletcher Library does have copies.
- Garner's Modern American UsageVery thorough guide to grammar and usage. Also very entertaining at times.
