This is a guide to a variety of print and online resources useful to the study of family history and genealogy.

Subjects to use in the ASU Library Catalog

The ASU Library Catalog contains a variety of resources to support researching a family. Among the various books some will be of the following kinds:

  • "how" to research a family while others will be
  • about families with a specific origin [e.g. Scottish, German etc.]
  • history of a specific family [e.g. Goldwater etc.].

Following are selected subjects to use when searching for family history and genealogy in the ASU Library Catalog. This is not a complete list but should give you an idea of what you might find. These are respresentative of what you might find in with many of these having variant endings.

You can also search the specific history of geographic areas, regions or by family names:
