Map and Geospatial Hub Geologic Holdings

The Map and Geospatial Hub holds geologic maps from USGS and the Arizona Geological Survey.  The Hub's maps cover most of the U.S. and many other countries.

Search for maps in the ASU Library Catalog using the advanced search.  Use search terms such as the name of the city, county, or region with the term "geology."

National Geologic Map Database: Geologic and Topographic Maps

The National Geologic Map Database allows you to search for both geologic and topographic maps of the United States. Many are available to download.

For geologic maps click on MapView.  System shows a map of the United States with overlays of geologic maps from USGS and State Geological Surveys for available.

Search the Map Catalog for additional maps not on the Map View.

For topographic maps click on TopoView.  Click on an area on the map and you can view historic and current maps in various scales.  Download any map for free.

US Geological Maps

Download free pdf files of many USGS maps and publications.


A set of 227 folios published by the U.S. Geological Survey between 1894 and 1945. Each folio includes both topographic and geologic maps for each quadrangle represented in that folio, as well as description of the basic and economic geology of the area.  Texas A&M Repository provides complete folios online.

Arizona Geological Survey

Search for Arizona Geological Survey publications and maps in the Online Document Repository.  Many allow you to download the publication.
