Citing Styles Guide

The Citing Styles Guide provides information about:

  • when to cite a source
  • choosing what citation style to use
  • citation style specifics
  • about setting up a RefWorks account


RefWorks allows you to manage your research by building your own, personal database of citations. You can then easily insert references and citations in papers or publications, and automatically generate bibliographies/works cited lists in APA, MLA, Chicago, and numerous other citation styles.

To being using RefWorks sign up for an individual account within RefWorks and establish a personal login ID and Password (ASURite ID and Password recommended).

Using RefWorks requires access through an authenticated link. Access RefWorks from the ASU Library homepage list of most used resources, or from the alphabetic list of Research Databases.
