Indigenous Leadership Academy - AIPI

The ASU Library acknowledges the twenty-two Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries, including the Akimel O’odham & Pee Posh Indian Communities, whose care and keeping of the Salt River Valley allows us to be here today.

AIPI Indigenous Leadership Academy LibGuide

This LibGuide structures the ASU Library resources needed to successfully support the American Indian Policy Institute's Indigenous Leadership Academy. AIPI leads the discourse for tribally-driven, informed policy making. It is an Indigenous led and staffed research institute at Arizona State University, whose work supports Tribal communities and Indigenous people nationwide. The Labriola Center created this LibGuide in collaboration with AIPI to further the goal using a non-partisan approach to increase the number of of Indigenous emerging leaders working together to bridge differences and build consensus on solutions that advance the quality of life for Indigenous people in Arizona and nationwide.

LibGuide Outcomes:

  1. Understand where to get help when you need it.
  2. Have a synthesized process to help you find Indigenous library and online resources.
  3. Find books and scholarly journals to assist you in completing your assignments.

Executive Director, AIPI

The ASU Library acknowledges the twenty-three Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries. Arizona State University's four campuses are located in the Salt River Valley on ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples, including the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and Pee Posh (Maricopa) Indian Communities, whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today. ASU Library acknowledges the sovereignty of these nations and seeks to foster an environment of success and possibility for Native American students and patrons. We are advocates for the incorporation of Indigenous knowledge systems and research methodologies within contemporary library practice. ASU Library welcomes members of the Akimel O’odham and Pee Posh, and all Native nations to the Library.
