Info on how to prepare for a conference or poster presentation, conference attendance, etc.

ASU Library Conference Prep Workshops

Get expert help from ASU librarians in a free workshop series designed to help you prepare standout proposals and posters. The current series is focused on preparing for the AAAS Student Poster Competition in Phoenix on February 14-15, 2026, but anyone may attend and information will be generalizable to most conferences.

How to Find a Conference

  • Look at opportunities in your own department at ASU
  • Subscribe to:
    • Professional listservs or groups
    • Graduate student listservs or groups
    • Professional social media in Bluesky or LinkedIn, etc.
  • Look for professional organizations’ annual meetings

Talk to faculty and peers to learn about opportunities they know of or conferences they have attended.

pro tip: Many conferences and professional organizations have student scholarships that pay many expenses associated with conference attendance.
