Interdisciplinary Studies

This guide will provide resources for IDS and IDS-Organizational Studies students in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts.

Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies at ASU

The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) is offered through the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. This degree takes a liberal arts approach in which students pick two subject concentration areas to combine with a set of core courses. Students gain essential skill sets, learn how to integrate their concentration areas, and engage in field experience to prepare for careers and graduate programs that transcend disciplinary boundaries. Additionally, the IDS-Organizational Studies degree program provides a multidisciplinary approach to the study of how individuals and groups interact with organizations and are affected by them.  This guide attempts to identify useful resources from these various disciplines for research in IDS and IDS-Organizational Studies.

The ASU Library acknowledges the twenty-three Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries. Arizona State University's four campuses are located in the Salt River Valley on ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples, including the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and Pee Posh (Maricopa) Indian Communities, whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today. ASU Library acknowledges the sovereignty of these nations and seeks to foster an environment of success and possibility for Native American students and patrons. We are advocates for the incorporation of Indigenous knowledge systems and research methodologies within contemporary library practice. ASU Library welcomes members of the Akimel O’odham and Pee Posh, and all Native nations to the Library.
