What is Biomedical Informatics?

Biomedical informatics is the science of translating clinical and medical data into useful information and knowledge to improve health outcomes, using a combination of technology and life sciences. 

This profession supports a wide variety of settings, including hospitals; health insurance providers; health departments; pharmaceutical, diagnostics and biotechnology companies and research institutions.
