ArcGIS Pro for Mac
STEP 1. INSTALLING PARALLELS DESKTOP

Parallels Desktop can be acquired at a 30% discount for students, faculty, and staff. https://www.parallels.com/plans/education/
- Proceed through the prompts that guide the user through installation.
- When prompted, input the product key received via email to activate Parallels Desktop.
STEP 2. OBTAIN WINDOWS PRODUCT KEY
- In cooperation with Microsoft, all students, staff, and faculty are eligible for a free copy of Windows 11. Visit this link to get started: https://ets.engineering.asu.edu/need-windows/
- Once in ASU My Apps, select 'Azure Dev Tools for Teaching' on the right:
- Follow the prompts and log in with your ASURITE. Select 'Explore all' under 'Free software' on the right:
- Search for 'Windows 11' and select 'Windows 11 Education, Version 24H2'
- A new dialog box will open on the right. Select 'View Key'. This will be needed to activate Windows on Parallels Desktop.
- Make sure to copy the Product Key or take note of it.
STEP 3. INSTALLING WINDOWS ON PARALLELS
- Return to Parallels Desktop and install Windows as prompted. Once installed, follow the steps outlined in this guide to activate Windows with the product key acquired above: https://kb.parallels.com/114051/
STEP 4. INSTALL ARCGIS PRO
- Follow the steps to download ArcGIS Pro as outlined in the ArcGIS Pro section of the libguide: https://libguides.asu.edu/esrisoftware/arcgispro
- When asked where to extract ArcGIS Pro to, ensure the proper location is chosen. It will default to install on the Mac operating system, not Windows.
- Select 'Browse', then choose 'This PC' to open up the Windows partition. Local Disk (C:) Is the Windows Install.
- Install ArcGIS Pro to your preferred location. In this example, it is installed under Users\(username)\Documents.
- ArcGIS Pro is now ready for use on Mac!
