This guide contains information on selected resources for research in Geography. It includes both print and electronic resources. Many electronic resources, such as indexes and journals, are available to ASU-affiliated users only.

Map Indexes

  • Map & Geospatial Hub - The ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub advances the use of geographically-referenced information by expanding access to and support for geospatial technologies and cartographic resources across ASU and beyond.
  • Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 (Arizona) - Provides digital access to maps of towns and cities in Arizona.
  • National Geologic Map Database - Catalogs more 67,000 maps and related data from the United States Geological Survey publications and from state geological surveys.

The ASU Library acknowledges the twenty-three Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries. Arizona State University's four campuses are located in the Salt River Valley on ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples, including the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and Pee Posh (Maricopa) Indian Communities, whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today. ASU Library acknowledges the sovereignty of these nations and seeks to foster an environment of success and possibility for Native American students and patrons. We are advocates for the incorporation of Indigenous knowledge systems and research methodologies within contemporary library practice. ASU Library welcomes members of the Akimel O’odham and Pee Posh, and all Native nations to the Library.
