Japan Statistical Yearbook = Nihon Tokei Nenkan Tokyo: Sorifu, 1949- . (ASU owns 1949-1985. Latest edition in Reference; earlier editions in Hayden East Asia.) Text is in English and Japanese. Supersedes Dai-Nihon Teikoku Tokei Nenkan, which was issued in Japanese only and ceased publication with Vol. 59, 1941. It has detailed statistical tables, with current and retrospective information, covering vir"tually all aspects of Japan: climate, business, education, health, science and technology, etc. The index is in Japanese, but the "list of Tables in English provides a good access guide. As of June 1993, the 1992 edition (the most current issue) is expected and the back numbers (1986-1991 editions) have been ordered.
