Genres Within Graphic Novels

As with other forms of literature there are various genres within the graphic novel category.  Graphic novels are written for various age groups of children and young adults but the majority are written for young adults.  Not all genres of graphic novels are suitable for young readers but followinggenres of graphic novels are common.

Historical Horror Humor
Non-fiction Science Fiction Superheroes


Searching Children's and Young Adult Graphic Novels

Graphic novels for children and young adults are located in the Curriculum collections in Hayden Library, Polytech Library and Fletcher Library on the West campus.  While they are located in various places within the collections a large number are shelved in the 741.5 call number area.
